Hello Otter Families,

This email hopefully will serve to answer important questions about Champs. 

1. Registration is now open for Champs on July 1st. Registration closes at 5PM this Thursday (June 22nd). https://olympiaotters.swimtopia.com/event-sign-up Swimmers are only allowed to sign up for events that they have current season times for. NT entries are NOT allowed. Pick up to 3 individual events that you have times for. After you sign up, coaches will look at the events and may have to move you in order to meet the entry limits required from MSSL. There are not any medley relays or IMs at Champs due to time constraints. There will be freestyle relays at the END as usual. If you don't want to stay until the end, then do not sign up for the freestyle relay. 

2. For parent volunteers, you will still be expected to help at the meet, but we will assign those completely manually for this one. We have 52 volunteer slots to fulfill for Champs and those have been dictated by the MSSL board. We are working to divide the volunteer roles into shifts to give parents a break. Look for a google meets sign up to indicate your shift preference. We will put out a meet book as soon as we have finalized heat sheets from the MSSL and volunteer assignments will be there as usual. 

3. We cannot enter the facility until 9AM (set-up volunteers should report by 8:45AM), warm-ups will be from 9:30-10AM, the meet will start at 10:15AM, and we have to have everything cleared out by 3PM (clean-up volunteers will need to be ready to help as soon as the last event ends). 

4. Regarding All Stars, if any of our swimmers qualify (based on finish times at Champs), we will communicate with you about registration separately. The top finisher + 4 next fastest swimmers will advance to All Stars.  We do not have any confirmation of the date/location yet for All Stars.
